Legal Mentors. Support for solicitors

Advice and Support for Solicitors

Legal Mentors assist Lawyers to take advantage of the increasingly competitive market for Legal Services. Whether it is because of impending de-regulation or just a desire to go for growth, Legal Firms are moving rapidly towards a more commercial approach to managing their practice. Legal Firms rely on the team at Legal Mentors to guide them through the process of creating a new Vision for their practice; linking goals and activities to that Vision, to gain the buy-in of all staff and finally, to ensure that the intended progress is made.

Practice Motivation Workshop

It can be tempting for fee-earners and support staff to consider themselves simply as employees, thinking “It’s the partners’ business, not mine”, thus feeling disconnected from the responsibility of actively helping the business to grow.

With pressure on pricing, reduced activity in both domestic and commercial conveyancing, and increasing competition, every member of the Practice needs to pull their weight. A new attitude is necessary. We can help you to achieve this with this in-house workshop.

Step 1: Planning the Workshop

The Workshop requires careful planning beforehand including:

  • The Agenda
  • The logistics of where the meeting will be held, catering arrangements, timing, equipment, seating, cover for staff whilst away from desks, etc

Step 2: Suggested Agenda for Workshop

The Workshop requires careful planning beforehand including:

  • Discussion of changes in the marketplace leading to the need for a new attitude
  • New initiatives for products, services, marketing etc.
  • Realisation by each member of staff that they must be an “Ambassador” for the Practice
  • Launch of new business cards for all staff. How and when to use them
  • Business development, including how the staff can get involved in promoting the Practice through the use of their own business cards and how to network
  • Announcement of new incentive / reward schemes
  • Break-out sessions - Feedback is invited from staff on actions they can suggest which will assist the firm in attaining its goals
  • Contacts they may have for new products
  • Client service initiatives
  • Cross-selling ideas
  • Gaining new business
  • What it is like to work for the Practice
  • Announcement of any new initiatives in staff communications / regular feedback meetings to keep staff informed and motivated
  • Partners to summarise and close the Workshop
